Angola Cables partners with Camtel to extend connectivity services in West Africa

Angola Cables, a global provider of network services and digital solutions, has announced a partnership with Camtel, Cameroon’s incumbent telecommunications operator, to enhance digital and connectivity services in Cameroon and across West Africa. This collaboration is set to transform internet connectivity and data transmission in the region upon completion of the necessary due diligence.

This strategic alliance stems from a mutual intent to tap into business opportunities within West Africa and the Atlantic region. By leveraging the expansive subsea cable networks of SACS, WACS, and Monet, coupled with Angola Cables' robust backhaul network and Camtel's connectivity through the South Atlantic Inter Link (SAIL), the partnership aims to enhance redundancy, network resilience, and the quality of service (QoS) both nationally and internationally. Businesses and enterprises will benefit from increased capacity options and improved traffic access to local and regional networks in West Africa through the Points of Presence (PoPs) maintained by both Angola Cables and Camtel.

Fernando Fernandes, Country Manager of TelCables Nigeria, a subsidiary of Angola Cables, expressed optimism about the partnership's potential to revolutionize connectivity in the region, stating, "The partnership, once the necessary due diligence has been completed, could transform internet connectivity and data transmission in West Africa."
