Two boys drowned in a water-filled quarry in Bhiwandi town of Maharashtra's Thane district where they had gone to swim, police said on Wednesday. The incident occurred on Tuesday and their bodies were recovered this morning, they said. ''These two boys - aged nine and 14 - went to the quarry to swim along with other children from Narpoli locality. However, they drowned in the water and they could not be traced till late evening. But their bodies were found floating on the water this morning,'' an official of Bhoiwada police station said.
A case of accidental death was registered and their bodies sent for post-mortem to a government hospital, he said.
