Tourist arrivals from India to Vienna rose by 5 percent to 30,445 in the first half, compared with 29,022 in the same period last year.
Indian tourist arrivals in Vienna grew by 11.7 percent in June to 10,659, compared with 9,543 Indians visiting the Austrian capital in the same month last year, due to growing direct air connectivity.
In the first six months of 2018, there was a 4.3 percent rise in Indian tourists to Vienna with 66,828 bed nights, compared with 64,075 in the year-ago period.
The rising number of Indian travelers to the city of castles and palaces has been aided by growing direct air connectivity, the board said.
India's national carrier Air India, which had been operating a direct Delhi-Vienna flight three days a week, added one more flight to the Austrian capital in its summer enhancing seating capacity by 33 percent, it said.
Overall, the city hosted 7.2 million travelers from across the globe in January-June 2018, a 4.1 percent increase over 6.9 million tourists in the year-ago period.
