6th Asian Youth Forum to begin tomorrow
AYF6 will bring together 300 youth from the region and features a one-day special event to bring together 700 more local youth and guests.
The 6th Asian Youth Forum (AYF6) will be held in August 2018 in Incheon, Korea in concurrence with the celebration of International Youth Day on August 12th, with the theme Building the Workforce of the Future.
Building on the outcomes of previous AYFs, AYF6 celebrates youth’s role as partners and beneficiaries to tackle unemployment issues with the proposed theme around youth employment AYF6 provides youth with the unique opportunity to engage stakeholders and demonstrate the capacity they possess to support sustainable economic growth and employment in the region.
AYF6 will bring together 300 youth from the region and features a one-day special event to bring together 700 more local youth and guests from Civil Society Organizations, Educational Institutions, and government representatives from South Korea to celebrate and make a declaration/agreement for the International Youth Day.
The following objectives are expected to be achieved by the end of the 6th Asian Youth Forum:
- Gathering stakeholder insights on the key challenges of youth employment;
- Training for participants in empowering them in contributing to youth employment;
- Identifying focus areas to ensure decent work for youth; and
- Leadership skills training for youth.
