Man, who killed wife in Noida and fled to Mumbai, returns for son; arrested
Raju alias Aslam, in early 30s, had stabbed his wife Ruby (28) to death on a road in Harola village in Sector 5 here and was absconding since then, police said, adding a case was registered in the matter at Section 20 police station here.
Officials said that eight years ago, Ruby had got married to one Rafique in Bihar's Gopalganj.
"Raju told the police that he had discovered that despite separating from Rafique years ago, she was still in a relationship with him," Additional Station House Officer (Crime) Arvind Pathak said.
"The finding led Raju into depression and the couple would frequently have fights over the issue," he said.
The accused was very fond of their toddler son and even on August 4, when Ruby was stabbed, he had come home to take the child with him before going to Mumbai. But his wife and mother-in-law had resisted, the police said.
"But the accused returned to Noida. He was arrested early today from Sector 5 on a tip-off. He had come to take his son with him," Saxena said.
He said the police have recovered the knife used in the killing based on inputs from the accused.
Raju has been remanded in judicial custody and a case of murder initiated against him, the police said.(This story has not been edited by Devdiscourse staff and is auto-generated from a syndicated feed.)
