Packers TE Graham to rest knee

Reuters 09 Aug 2018, 03:17 PM

Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham is likely to rest his bruised knee after not practicing on Wednesday.

Graham banged his knee when Josh Jones landed on him during drills Tuesday.

The Packers are relying on a young group of wide receivers behind Randall Cobb and Davante Adams but signed Graham and former Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Marcedes Lewis to bring experience to the offense.

Graham was able to finish Tuesday's practice and coach Mike McCarthy downplayed the injury.

Graham, 31, signed a three-year deal in free agency on the same day the Packers released wide receiver Jordy Nelson to free up $10 million in cap space.
