Hackers may access your WhatsApp chat conversation, Be Cautious
New WhatsApp security loopholes allows attackers to spread fake news.
In the latest research from Check Point researchers, a vulnerability in WhatsApp has been spotted which allows hackers to intercept and manipulate users message sent by those in a group or private conversation. The Checkpoint researcher quoted, "By intercepting users message, attackers can put themselves in a position of immense power to not only steer potential evidence in their favor but also create and spread misinformation".

According to Checkpoint Blog, The researcher explains that the attackers can use the vulnerability by following attacks:
1. Change user's replies by adding a word that they haven't written
2. Quoting someone who is not a part of a conversation.
3. Message sent to the group but is in fact only sent to the specific member, in return user message will be sent to the entire group conversation.
Further, The researcher quoted "Due to its very nature of being an easy and quick way to communicate, WhatsApp has already been at the center of a variety of scams. From fake supermarket and airline giveaways to election tampering, threat actors never tire of ways to manipulate unsuspecting users."
