The Detroit Tigers agreed to terms with veteran right-hander Zach McAllister, the club announced on Friday.

The 30-year-old McAllister was released by the Cleveland Indians on Wednesday after being designated for assignment last week.

McAllister compiled a 29-35 record and 3.99 ERA in 277 appearances (68 starts) in eight seasons with the Indians.

Detroit designated right-hander Jacob Turner for assignment to clear a 40-man roster spot.

Turner gave up seven runs (five earned) in his lone inning for the Tigers on Tuesday and is 14-31 with a 5.37 ERA in 102 career appearances (56 starts) with Detroit, the Miami Marlins, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox and Washington Nationals.
