Coal production in Srirampur, Mandamarri and Bellampalli areas suspended due to heavy rain

According to data available with district authorities, Mancherial district has received an average rainfall of 21mm, while Kumaran bheem Asifabad district received a rainfall of 17.9 mm.

Production of coal was suspended in Srirampur, Mandamarri and Bellampalli areas following continues downpours from Friday.

Coal belt areas of Mancherial district recorded heavy rains till Saturday evening.  According to sources, those areas suffered a decline in output of coal by around 30 percent against daily targets.

According to data available with district authorities, Mancherial district has received an average rainfall of 21mm, while Kumaran bheem Asifabad district received a rainfall of 17.9 mm.

 Tandur Mandal registered the highest rainfall of 40.6mm.

Hajipur and Chennur Mandal recorded 34mm and 32.3mm respectively. Kai spent, Vemanapalli, Mandammari and Kotapalli mandlas received rainfall between 20mm and 30mm.

Standing cotton and maize crops suffered due to heavy rains. The damage is due to be assessed by Agricultural officials.

Showers ended the dry spell for those planning to plant paddy saplings.
