Ronald Acuna Jr. wasted no time extending his historic home run streak.

The Atlanta Braves' rookie left fielder homered on the first pitch of the game Tuesday against the Miami Marlins, the third consecutive contest in which he has led off with a homer. It's the majors' longest streak since 1996, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Acuna, who homered again in the seventh inning Tuesday, has gone deep in five consecutive games -- the youngest in baseball history to accomplish the feat. He has eight homers in his past eight games.

Acuna, 20 years, 239 days old, already had become the youngest player ever to homer four games in a row, accomplishing that feat when he blasted long balls to open both ends of a Monday doubleheader against the Marlins, eclipsing the record set by Miguel Cabrera in 2004, who was 21 when he homered in four straight.

Acuna homered leading off Atlanta's Saturday game against the Brewers, and he hit a home run in the second inning Sunday vs. Milwaukee after walking to open the first inning.

In the first inning Tuesday, Acuna hit a 90 mph fastball from Marlins rookie right-hander Trevor Richards out to left. He belted a three-run shot off left-hander Adam Conley to right in the seventh, his 19th homer in 67 major league games.
