Pulses market rise on emergence of stockists buying against tight supplies

Firm conditions prevailed at the wholesale pulses market as select pulses led by kabuli gram rose by up to Rs 100 per quintal on the emergence of stockists buying against tight supplies.

Traders said stockists' buying against tight supplies on fall in arrivals from producing belts mainly pushed up kabuli gram and other pulses prices.

However, activity remained restricted as enquiries from neighbouring states remained negligible due to 'Bharat Bandh' call given by the Congress party and several other parties against rising fuel prices.

In the national capital, kabuli gram gained the most by rising Rs 100 to Rs 4,800-5,600 per quintal.

Gram followed suit and edged up by Rs 50 to Rs 4,100-4,200, while its dal local and best quality traded higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,400-4,800 and Rs 4,800-4,900 per quintal, respectively.

Rajmah chitra inched up by Rs 50 to Rs 6,250-8,450 per quintal.

Masoor small and bold too hardened by Rs 50 each to Rs 3,700-3,950 and Rs 3,750-4,050 per quintal respectively. Its dal local and best quality enquired higher by Rs 100 each to Rs 4,200-4,600 and Rs 4,300-4,700 per quintal respectively.

Masoor small Rs 3,700-3,950, bold Rs 3,750-4,050, Dal Masoor local Rs 4,200-4,600, best quality Rs 4,300-4,700, Malka local Rs 4,550-4,850, best Rs 4,650-4,950, Moth Rs 3,800-4,200, Arhar Rs 3,650 and Dal Arhar Dara Rs 4,900-6,800.

Gram Rs 4,100-4,200, Gram dal (local) Rs 4,400-4,800, best quality Rs 4,800-4,900, Besan (35 kg), Shakti bhog Rs 2,000, Rajdhani Rs 2,000, Rajma Chitra Rs 6,250-8,450, Kabuli Gram small Rs 4,800-5,600, Dabra Rs 2,700-2,800, imported Rs 4,700-5,100, Lobia Rs 3,400-3,600, Peas white Rs 4,200-4,250 and green Rs 4,300-4,400.
