Jaisalmer's famed war museum held its first light and sound show yesterday, showcasing the Indian Army's valour in the battlefield.

The 40-minute show reconstructed the Indian Army's victories during the 1947, 1965 and 1971 wars against Pakistan.

The 1971 war was fought in Jaisalmer's Longewala town.

General Officer Commanding (GOC) Battle Axe Division Major General O P Gulia, who attended the maiden show, dedicated it to the nation.

The show presents the pride and rich heritage of India's armed forces in the form of a saga of various wars fought in the past, a defence spokesperson said.

It showcases the Battle of Longewala in great detail with audio and visual effects and laser animation of actual bunkers, tanks, guns, aircrafts and soldiers.

Veteran Bollywood actor Kabir Bedi has lent his baritone voice for the show's narration.

The show will now be held regularly for the large number of visitors coming in every day.

It is expected to further boost tourism in Jaisalmer, located close to India's border with Pakistan.
