India opens up BEL office in Vietnam
Indian Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated a liaison office in Hanoi.
Indian Defense Minister Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated a liaison office of the Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) in Hanoi.
Organized by FICCI, a business interaction holds the defence sector companies from India and Vietnam along with senior officials of Vietnam’s military.
On the occasion, Defense minister said that she had a very forward-looking and encouraging discussion with the Defence Minister of Vietnam.
Alos giving up an example of BEL she highlights the seriousness of the commitment to doing business with Vietnam.
As both countries rely on Russian military hardware and this new pact can create significant bilateral cooperation between two countries.
Including the services like MRO services for Vietnam's MiG aircraft, providing the Vietnam People's Navy with submarine training, and providing technical training for vessel construction.
Vietnamese Deputy Defence Minister of National Defence, Senior Colonel General Be Xuan Trong was also enthusiastic for the future Indo-Vietnamese relations.
He said on the occasion that “Bilateral defence relations between the two countries was finally getting its due”.
He also invited Indian companies to set up the business operations in Vietnam, not for only India and Vietnam, but to supply to other countries also.

He also marked the growing interest of Indian companies into Vietnam’s market as a tool for strengthening the comprehensive engagements between both nations.
