Velcom now provides SAP services through its own data center

Since the services will be provided by the Belarusian data center, the implementation of the solution can take from 2 to 5 months, which is much faster than the traditional implementation.

Velcom, the leading telecom operator of Belarus has become the first company in the country to provide certified SAP services for the Partner Managed Cloud model from the cloud, after signing an agreement of cooperation with SAP CIS on the development of the cloud services market, a company statement said.

Velcom will provide services for data analysis, rental of databases based on SAP HANA (DBaaS), virtual IT infrastructure (IaaS) and business applications, and access to the SAP platform SuccessFactors, via its own data center.

"Cooperation in the Partner Managed Cloud model opens velcom new opportunities for business development: the company becomes a universal provider, providing both telecom services and cloud services for a wide range of business tasks," said Ilya Shulipin, director of SAP CIS in Belarus.

The joint project of SAP and velcom on the model PMC (Partner Managed Cloud) unites the efforts of the two companies in the field of digital business transformation, told Denis Filazafovich, deputy general director for business services and cloud services for velcom.

"For customers, this can be a quick alternative to traditional approaches, with which you do not need to waste time, finances and additional efforts to implement. You can get ready-made solutions in the shortest possible time without an impressive initial investment. The offer includes SAP services of any scale and any complexity. All IT infrastructure is taken by the velcom Tier III data center with highly qualified specialists who care about the reliability and comfort of using the service. Similar services are already becoming popular in world practice, and for the Belarusian market this is the first such case, Denis further added.
