The government of Belize (GOB) entered in a collaboration with the Caribbean Development Bank to launch a series of capacity building programmes in Belmopan. The aim of the programme will be to strengthen public capacity and enhance the competence of public officers at different levels.

Public Capital Investment Programmes as well as Growth and Sustainable Development Strategy launched by GOB, will get a fillip by the recent collaboration.

Yvonne Hyde, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Economic Development and Petroleum said that the training imparted will serve to increase the ownership of the project cycle by concerned stakeholders.

In 2015, CDB adopted a policy to tackle the regional energy challenges including emphasising on energy security access. To promote the concept of sustainable and renewable energy, CDB included a Nissan Leaf Tekna vehicle which produces zero emissions. It will help CDB in increasing its carbon footprints as it transports packages and officials throughout the Caribbean island.
