Netherlands PM Mark Rutte is scheduled to visit Bangalore, the startup hub of India on 25th May 2018. Netherlands wants to focus on increasing ties with India by building an innovation ecosystem between two countries and set up a start uplink, in order to help dutch startups understand and explore the Indian market

Talking about Indian government initiative, Startup India is a flagship initiative of the Government of India started in 2015. The idea was to build a strong eco-system for supporting, nurturing and promoting innovation. The government looked to back start-up projects which can prove to be a revelation in the field of sustainable economic development

In order to meet the objectives of the initiative, Government of India announced the Action Plan that addresses all aspects of the Startup ecosystem on 16th January 2016. 

The Action Plan is mainly based on three pillars:

  • Simplification and Handholding
  • Funding Support and Incentives
  • Industry-Academia Partnership and Incubation
