Amid harsh economic sanctions from the United States and some soft signals from the European Nations, Iran has agreed on returning to the pre-nuclear era.
The head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency, Ali Akbar Salehi said that Iran is all prepared to resume the production of highly-enriched uranium but hopes that it will not be required.
US State Secretary, Mike Pompeo had earlier said that the United States will ‘crush’ Iran using the military. He further said that the US will continue to put pressure on Iran until it behaves properly in the Middle East.
The Secretary reinstated that the US will monitor the regional activities of Iran in order to restrict its influence in the region.
Earlier, President Trump announced the withdrawal of Washington from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
JCPOA limited Iran’s Uranium enrichment in exchange for the relief from sanctions. The Iran nuclear deal was signed in 2015, the signatories being Iran, US, Britain, Germany, Russia, France and China.
The countries under the deal had to lift economic sanctions from Iran and in return, Iran vowed to limit its nuclear programme
