A TV presenter in Thailand has been fired over the live broadcast of comments in which Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was called a dictator.

The presenter named Euariyakul belonging to Digital TV 28 was fired over the comments made on the subject of Turkish-origin German footballer Mesut Ozil’s resignation after his meeting with the Turkish president.

Ozil’s meeting with Erdogan resulted in the furore after a photograph went viral taken during a recent Turkish election campaign.

The presenter in his comments said that the world is stepping on Erdogan because he is such a dictator and he made laws to keep himself in power for 14 years.

Euariyakul further said that things a person can hear about Recep Tayyip Erdogan while talking about him are ‘dictator’, ‘election fraud’, ‘not listening to others’ etc.

The local Muslim groups objected to the comments of Euariyakul and TV executives took him to apologise personally to the Turkish ambassador.
