The Atlanta Braves beefed up their bench by acquiring Adam Duvall from the Cincinnati Reds on Monday.

Cincinnati received right-handers Lucas Sims and Matt Wisler as well as outfielder Preston Tucker in the deal.

Duvall, 29, is having a season that typifies his career -- good power numbers and a low batting average. He is hitting .205 with a .286 on-base percentage, a .399 slugging percentage, 15 homers and 61 RBIs in 105 games.

For his career, which includes 2014 with the San Francisco Giants and the past four years with Cincinnati, Duvall has a .233/.294/.464 batting line with 87 homers and 277 RBIs in 467 games. He earned an All-Star nod in 2016.

Primarily a left fielder, he also has seen action at first base and right field this year.

Wisler, 25, was 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA in seven games (three starts) for Atlanta this year. He also was 4-4 with a 4.37 ERA in 13 starts for Triple-A Gwinnett.

Sims, 24, had no decisions and a 7.84 ERA in six relief outings with the Braves in 2018. He also was in the Gwinnett rotation, going 4-3 with a 2.84 ERA in 15 games (14 starts).

Tucker, 28, opened the season as the Braves' starting left fielder but lost the job to rookie Ronald Acuna Jr. He hit .256/.307/.444 with four homers and 22 RBIs in 62 games for Atlanta. Most recently he was playing for Gwinnett, where he was 16-for-24 in his past six games, raising his hitting line to .250/.274/.350 with no homers and six RBIs in 16 games.
