The New England Patriots released wide receiver Corey Coleman from the practice squad on Saturday.

Coleman's status has diminished rapidly since the Cleveland Browns selected him with the 15th overall pick out of Baylor in 2016. He caught 33 passes for 413 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie, and he followed that up with 23 catches for 305 yards and two touchdowns for the Browns in 2017.

The Buffalo Bills acquired Coleman for a seventh-round pick in August but released him before the start of the season. The Patriots signed him to their 53-man roster on Sept. 11 but released him soon after to clear a spot for Josh Gordon, another former Browns wideout.

New England re-signed Coleman to its practice squad Sept. 19 before letting him go 10 days later.
