Ante Rebic scored one goal and set up another as Eintracht Frankfurt bounced back from a bad start to the Bundesliga season to crush Hanover 96 4-1 and earn their first league win since the first matchday back in August.
The Croat, a World cup finalist in July, made his first start of the campaign following an injury and scored Eintracht's second goal. He also set up their third.
Eintracht, German Cup winners last season, are in 11th place on seven points.
In the other game on Sunday, Iceland's Alfred Finnbogason scored a hat-trick in Augsburg's 4-1 demolition of Freiburg to become their all-time leading Bundesliga scorer with 25 goals and earn his team their first home win of the season.
Finnbogason had also scored a hat-trick against Freiburg last season. Augsburg is eighth on eight points.
Borussia Dortmund took over the top spot on Saturday after coming from two goals down to beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-2.
Champions Bayern Munich is a point behind on 13 after suffering their first loss of the season with a 2-0 defeat at Hertha Berlin on Friday.
