Three persons including an assistant municipal commissioner have been arrested by the Thane Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in two separate cases.
Assistant commissioner at Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation, Nandlal Samtani (56) had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from clearing a file regarding a hotel license, an ACB official said.
After a complaint was filed, the ACB laid a trap Wednesday and arrested Samtani while allegedly accepting the bribe at his office.
In the second case, Vinod Lade (56), assistant rationing officer at Navi Mumbai, was arrested for demanding a bribe of Rs 30,000 from a shop owner for not taking action against the shop.
The ACB laid a trap and arrested Wednesday middleman Govind Vaviya (40) who allegedly accepted the money on Lade's behalf, and then arrested Lade himself.
