Report: Raiders won't move to Vegas before 2020

The Oakland Raiders may be bound for Las Vegas, but it apparently won't be any time soon. With the franchise looking for a place to play some or all of its home games in the 2019 season should it not be able to come to an agreement with officials in Oakland on a lease extension, Sam Boyd Stadium -- the home field for the UNLV football team -- is not considered a possible site for next season, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

NBA notebook: Irving says he'll extend Boston stay

Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving said Thursday that he plans to remain with the team following the upcoming season. "I've shared it with some of my teammates, as well as the organization and everyone else in Boston," Irving, 26, said at a gathering of Celtics season-ticket holders at TD Garden. "If you guys will have me back, I plan on re-signing here."

Jones won't bite on the third bout vs. Cormier

Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, soon to be reinstated from a doping suspension, has no plans to schedule a third bout with Daniel Cormier. In a story published Thursday night, Jones told ESPN's Ariel Helwani that Cormier isn't on his radar. Jones earned a unanimous decision over Cormier on Jan. 3, 2015, then knocked out Cormier on July 29, 2017, only to have the latter bout declared a no-contest when Jones flunked a drug test.

Ryu silences Braves; Dodgers blast three homers

Joc Pederson hit a leadoff home run Thursday, Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched seven shutout innings as a surprise Game 1 starter, and the Los Angeles Dodgers opened the National League Division Series with a 6-0 victory over the visiting Atlanta Braves.
