Police arrests drug peddler in Samba

A drug peddler was arrested Monday and a vehicle seized after recovery of 240 kg of poppy from it in Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district, police said.
Acting on specific information, a police party intercepted an SUV coming from Kathua side on the highway at Tapyal, they said.
During checking of the vehicle, 240 kg of poppy was recovered.
The vehicle and the contraband item were seized and the drug peddler was arrested, they added.
A case was registered at Ghagwal police station against the driver and owner of the vehicle Maskeen Ali and a probe has been initiated, police said.
