Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan presents Hindi Pakhwada Awards

Shri Ram Vilas Paswan emphasised that simpler form of Hindi should be used which is easier to understand by the common man.

The Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan today gave away the awards for Hindi Pakhwada to the officials and staff members of the Department of Consumer Affairs at Krishi Bhawan in New Delhi. 89 staff members participated in the Hindi Pakhwada which is more than 50% of the strength of the department. Shri Paswan also released a ‘shabdkosh’ booklet for English and Hindi translations which will provide a ready reference for the officials and help them in using Hindi as a medium for official communication.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan congratulated all the winners and asserted that along with speaking in Hindi, a writing habit should also be inculcated in daily lives. The Union Minister also hailed the President, Vice President, Prime Minister and External Affairs Minister for spreading the use of Hindi and for promoting the practice of speaking in Hindi even at International Fora.

Shri Ram Vilas Paswan emphasised that simpler form of Hindi should be used which is easier to understand by the common man. Shri Paswan also proposed to set up a small library where Hindi books should be kept which will help with the preservation of old literature which he called a legacy for the younger generations.

Talking about the removal of inferiority complex attached with the usage of Hindi, Shri Ram Vilas Paswan expressed happiness over the increase in the usage of Hindi in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution during his tenure as the Minister and expressed confidence that the officials and staff members will further continue the strides they have taken in this direction.
