U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday he has accepted the resignation of U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley, who will be leaving at the end of the year.
Trump said Haley, who was South Carolina governor when Trump tapped her for the U.N. position, told him six months ago that she wanted to take some time off. Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, he praised her as having done an incredible job and said he hoped she could come back to the administration in another capacity.
