Huawei plans for new office in Angola to focus on Africa's emerging market

Chinese multinational company Huawei has spent USD 60 million in the past 20 years in Angola claimed its vice president, Yi Xiang.

Huawei which have over 172 offices around the world comes third in the ranking of world's best technological companies after Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics.

According to Angola press agency ANGOP the company is planning to set a new office in the country to focus on the emerging market of the continent.

The Angolan president Joao Lourenco is in the two-day visit to the People’s Republic of China where he signed an agreement on economic and technical cooperation, the opening of the credit line by Development Bank of China and Angolan Finance Ministry.

This is the second visit of Lourenco to China in a period of two months after he became president in 2017, earlier was in September in Beijing summit.

This visit of President seems effective as Chinese companies are luring him to set foot on the African market. Huawei vice president Xiang offered Angolan President to set an emergency communication system in the premises of Presidential Palace.  

In a statement to the media said Xiang said, “ We would like to contribute with our technological efforts to take the digitally interconnected world to each person, family and organization in Angola.”

Since 2002 China has provided Angola with a credit of USD 23 billion in a strategic partnership in Africa.
