Russia day is an occasion for many Russians to celebrate the spirit of being a true Russian who demonstrates national pride and pay tribute to the economic and social achievements of famous people of the country.
On June 12, 1990, when Soviet leaders signed the declaration of Russia to begin the democratic reforms in the country is also known as the official dissolution of the Soviet Union.
After that June 12 became the public holiday in 1994, and also Russia's first president Boris Yeltsin suggested renaming it to Russia Day in 1997.
Many Russians refused to celebrate this holiday when it was introduced first in 1994, as most of the Soviet era lover were disappointed because of the dissolution of the Soviet Union.
However, it doesn't mean that Russia Day is not a popular day in the country these days as many track and field event across the country and award ceremony for the famous scientist, writers, and other prominent Russians get organized by the groups.
