Groin injury sidelines Canucks' Boeser
Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser will miss at least a week because of a groin injury, the team announced Saturday.
Canucks coach Travis Green said Saturday that Boeser's status was "week to week" but that he expected the 21-year-old to come back strong. Boeser returned to Vancouver earlier this week to see a specialist about the injury, which already has cost him three games.
"He wants to play, but we've got to make sure he's ready to go," Green said to reporters in comments published by NHL.com.
Boeser has 11 points (four goals, seven assists) in 13 games to start the season. He enjoyed a breakout campaign last year as he registered 55 points (29 goals, 26 assists) in 62 games. A back injury forced him to miss the final month of the season.
