He delivered the amount to Laos Ambassador Khamsouay Keodalavong at the Laos Embassy in Hannam-Dong, central Seoul.
The move by the company came in response to collapsing of the dam that was built by them causing at least several hundreds to go missing and 7000 people to flee from their homes.
Khamsouay Keodalavo said,"on behalf of Laotians, I would like to express the deepest gratitude to the Korean Government and SK group for supporting regions affected by heavy floods that have continued for four to five days."
SK group has also decided to support Laos with food and necessary items that are being required by people during the time of crisis.
Initial Damage to one of SK E&C's five dams in the southern province of Attapeu was found on Sunday. After the damage and collapsing of the dam, about 4.95 billion cubic meters of water was released from this damaged dam which washed away homes in seven villages in the region.
Since the collapse, the company has been sending helicopters and boats for the rescue of the people.
An investigation has also been going on whether the flooding was caused by construction failure or heavy rains.
