Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh today ordered an inquiry by the Lokayukta into alleged irregularities in the appointment of a professor at Udaipur's ML Sukhadia University.

This is the first case of inquiry by the Lokayukta into a matter related to a university in the state, a Raj Bhawan spokesperson said.

The decision was taken following complaints of irregularities in the appointment of Rajesh Kumar Dubey as a professor in the biotechnology department of the university.

The Department of Personnel issued a notification of the Lokayukta inquiry following the directions of the governor.
