India picked up early wickets  as England were reeling 53-2 in 14.2 overs and looked to capitalize on England’s baffled top-order collapse with 131-5 in 31.1 overs but England had other plans for India

After an awful first inning of 107, India took early wickets but Chris Woakes and Bairstow had different plans as their 120(159)  and 93(144)  gave England an astounding 250 runs lead, as they ended the day at 357-6.

It is a do or die test match for India and they need to get those four wickets before lunch and try to restrict England under 500 runs.

India’s batting line-up needs to shine and pull off a miracle for any chances of win or draw. Again the innings will be heavily dependent on Murali Vijay, KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara.

It was unfortunate for Pujara to be dismissed in an unfortunate run out. James Anderson was too good for India’s top order and Chris Woakes comeback proved to be decisive.

England has shown that they are invincible at home when it comes to testing cricket. Any team would have crumbled after being reduced to 141-5 but they were calm because exceptional bowling by Anderson and company humbled India to a mere score of 107.

KL Rahul has always looked promising with his delightful square cuts but has not played long innings in this series. India needs someone like Cheteshwar Pujara to support Virat Kohli and look for a big total.

India’s bowling has been impressive with R Ashwin, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav. Among these bowlers, Shami has been the stand out bowler for Team India with 3-74 in 19 overs.

First session of Day 4 will decide the faith for Team India. It will be interesting to see the story unfold for nervy India amid confident England.
