Blackhawks defenseman Gustav Forsling to miss start of season

Blackhawks defenseman Gustav Forsling will miss the start of the regular season after having surgery on his right wrist on Tuesday, the team announced in a statement.

"The surgery went well and the expected recovery time is 14 weeks," the team said.

Forsling, who turned 22 in June, tallied three goals and 10 assists and averaged 19:15 of ice time in 41 games last season, his second with the Blackhawks. He scored two goals with three assists while averaging 14:49 of ice time in 38 games in his rookie season.
