WHO World malaria report 2018 to be released on 19 November
This year’s report will be launched in conjunction with a new approach to jumpstart progress against malaria, focusing on the 11 countries (10 on the African continent, plus India) that account for approximately 70% of the global malaria burden.
The WHO World malaria report 2018 will be released on 19 November in Maputo, Mozambique. The report will present a comprehensive overview of global progress in the fight against malaria up to the end of 2017.
This year’s report will be launched in conjunction with a new approach to jumpstart progress against malaria, focusing on the 11 countries (10 on the African continent, plus India) that account for approximately 70% of the global malaria burden. Catalyzed by WHO and the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, this new response will be led by countries that carry the highest burden of malaria.
WHAT, WHEN and WHERE: Journalists are invited to participate in two press conferences on the malaria report and new response.
Wednesday 14 November 2018, at 16:30 GENEVA time: Embargoed virtual press conference with malaria experts from the World Health Organization and the RBM Partnership to End Malaria. The embargo will lift on Monday 19 November at 14:30 Geneva time.
