Former senator Iván Duque Márquez will take office on Tuesday as the sixtieth president of Colombia. It will be before the Congress in full and in the presence of 10 heads of state and delegations from 17 nations in the Bolivar Square in Bogotá.

The 42-year-old lawyer arrives at the Casa de Nariño with his wife, María Juliana and their children Luciana, Eloísa and Matías, the first children who will be Palace tenants in this century.

At 2:45 it is foreseen that Duque, together with his wife and children, as well as the Vice President Marta Lucía Ramírez, her husband, and daughter, will go down 10th Street to meet the commission of congressmen.

They will pass through the street to get to the Capitol, where the ceremony will be. Once there, the session of the Congress will officially be resumed. The National Anthem will sound and the taking of oath will come to Duke.

After this, Ernesto Macias, president of the Senate, will impose the presidential band. In the event will be the president from Mexico, Enrique Peña Nieto, from Chile, Sebastián Piñera, Mauricio Macri, from Argentina, Lenin Moreno, from Ecuador, Juan Carlos Varela, from Panama, Danilo Medina, from the Dominican Republic; Carlos Alvarado, from Costa Rica, Jimmy Morales, from Guatemala, Evo Morales, from Bolivia, and Juan Carlos Hernández, from Honduras.
