Seattle Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager was reinstated from the paternity list prior to Thursday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Seager missed a three-game series against the Houston Astros as his wife, Julie, gave birth to the couple's third child.

The club also announced that it optioned infielder Zach Vincej to Triple-A Tacoma and outrighted veteran infielder Gordon Beckham to the same club. Beckham, who cleared waivers, was designated for assignment on Tuesday.

Seager is batting .228 with 16 homers and 57 RBIs this season. The 30-year-old is four shy of his seventh consecutive 20-homer campaign.

Vincej was 2-for-4 with an RBI in the lone game he played during Seager's absence. The 27-year-old is batting .236 with six homers and 44 RBIs in 84 games for Tacoma.

Beckham, 31, batted .200 with no homers and one RBI in 13 games with the Mariners this season. He is hitting .305 with eight homers and 38 RBIs in 70 games for Tacoma.
