MLS: Chicago Fire and Ramos to terminate contarct
Fire, D Ramos agree to terminate contract
The Chicago Fire and defender Rafael Ramos have mutually parted ways, the team announced on Monday.
The 23-year-old Portuguese native was in his first season with the Fire after an offseason trade with Orlando City SC. Ramos appeared in five games for the Fire this season, three in MLS play.
Ramos, who had been under contract for 2018 with a club option for 2019, reportedly found a new club right away, signing with FC Twente, a Dutch club in the Jupiler League.
In parts of four MLS seasons, Ramos played in 42 games (38 starts), collecting five assists.
