SASAOKA LEADS JAPAN TO SECOND SKATEBOARDING WIN

Japanese skateboarder Kensuke Sasaoka has won the men's park final with a score of 76.00, adding to his nation's triumph in the women's event earlier on Wednesday.

Indonesian duo Jason Dennis Lijnzaat and Pevi Permana Putra took silver and bronze respectively with scores of 68.33 and 67.00.

INDONESIA ADD TO PENCAK SILAT GOLD HAUL

Hosts Indonesia have hasall 10 gold medals in pencak silat at this year's Games so far, with the latest coming in the women's doubles final, where home duo Ayu Sidan Wilantari and Ni Made Dwiyanti scored 574 to clinch the gold.

Thailand's Saowanee Chanthamunee and Oraya Choosuwan won silver, and Malaysia's Nor Hamizah Abu Hassan and Nur Syazreen A Malik took bronze in the Indonesian martial art discipline.

In the men's singles final, home favourite Sugianto Sugianto came out on top with a score of 471, while Thailand's Ilyas Sadara and Almohaidib Abad of the Philippines completed the top three.

JAPAN'S YOSOZUMI RECORDS HISTORIC SKATEBOARDING VICTORY

Japan's Sakura Yosozumi has become the first athlete to win a skateboarding medal at the Asian Games, after the sport made its Games bow this year, with her victory in the women's park final.

Yosozumi scored 66.66 points, while compatriot Kaya Isa scored 58.33 to win silver and China's Zhang Xin won bronze.

China opened the day with gold medals in the men's and women's 20km race walking events.

Yang Jiayu won the women's race in a Games record time of one hour, 29 minutes and 15 seconds while compatriot Qieyang Shijie took silver and Japan's Kumiko Okada the bronze.

China's Wang Kaihua and Jin Xiangqian grabbed gold and bronze medals in the men's race while Japan's Toshikazu Yamanishi finished second.

ACTION BEGINS ON DAY 12

Track cycling, diving and a host of athletics events headline the 12th day of the 18th Asian Games.
