Veteran shooting guard Jamal Crawford agreed to terms on a one-year deal with the Phoenix Suns, ESPN reported Monday.

Crawford will be entering his 19th NBA season. The 38-year-old will be expected to provide leadership to a team with a young star in shooting guard Devin Booker and a top-flight rookie in No. 1 overall choice Deandre Ayton.

Crawford has a 15.0 career scoring average and ranks fifth in NBA history with 2,153 3-point baskets. He is a three-time winner of the NBA's Sixth Man of the Year award.

Crawford averaged 10.3 points in 80 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season.

The Suns will be Crawford's eighth NBA franchise. He began his career with the Chicago Bulls (2000-04) and also has played for the New York Knicks (2004-08), Golden State Warriors (2008-09), Atlanta Hawks (2009-11), Portland Trail Blazers (2011-12), Los Angeles Clippers (2012-17) and Minnesota.
