"Life is like jazz, it's better when you improvise," said an anonymous musician in a campfire of jazz camp, and Leo Villagra must have conceived it since he was very young in his native Tucumán.
Since 2003, Villagra has been part of the stable band of musicians of Bruno Arias, participating in great folkloric festivals of our country, while dictating composition clinics and participating in renowned international jazz festivals. Self-taught as a bassist and guitarist, he studied at musical institutions in Tucumán and also in Buenos Aires, Argentina's capital.
Leo Villagra, since his childhood had the urge to create, feel and enjoy instrumental and sensorial music, which makes him go towards the search of this new project, with compositions of broad destiny and solid artistic definition as told in an interview to a local newspaper.
Leo has had an experience with all the artists belonging to the different genre. These include Lito Epumer, Los Carabajal, Lucho Hoyos. He also participated in La Banda de Calton ( Leon Gieco, 2013) on the theme "Birth" which he directed and produced himself. He won Gardel prize for the best conceptual album award for "Root Spinetta" with Claudia Romero and "The Sea is Weeping" for its theme in 2015.
