Botswana among top five in Social Protection and Poverty Eradication
The information was given by him during the International Conference on the Fight against Poverty in Gaborone in March 2018.
Botswana is at third rank in terms of spending on social protection services and measures to eliminate poverty and development in secluded areas.
Revealed by the senior World Bank's economist Mr Victor Sulla; the country made targets and systems to tackle poverty and improve human capital development.
The information was given by him during the International Conference on the Fight against Poverty in Gaborone in March 2018.The targeted system by the government has been spending generously on Botswana's social protection.
Giving the figures, Sulla told that about 4.4 percent of Botswana's GDP is spent on its social protection schemes and thus has improved results.
The Minister of Loca Government and Rural Development Mr Slumber Tsogwane assured government's determination towards eradication of poverty. The government gave support to 213 beneficiaries of which 53 comprised of destitute persons, war veterans, old age pensioners and orphans.
Th outcome was a result of the wise use of prudent fiscal policies and revenue.According to him since last three years government has shown its commitment towards poverty elimination. By 2036 the government aims to achieve prosperity for all of its citizens.
