Guns are not for children, time is
According to Centers for Disease Control mortality data, gunfire caused at least 26,000 lives among children and teens in the US between 1999 and 2016.
The gunshot by children is not 'once in a blue moon' incident now. We hear such news regarding gunshot by a minor or in a school time after time.
According to statistics, in the US there are millions of guns in circulation, on an average 113 guns for every 100 people. According to Centers for Disease Control mortality data, gunfire caused at least 26,000 lives among children and teens in the US between 1999 and 2016.
Not just in the United States, recently in India, a student has shot the principle due to the rage over low attendance matter in the school.
Also in Africa, Empangeni region, a local newspaper reported that according to police an 11-year-old boy was playing with his father's licensed firearm when a shot went off and struck his 2-year-old sister. In another case of the same area, a child was shot and killed and after which the boy turned the gun on himself and shot himself dead.

The cases are not always of rage or aggression, even at times while playing, children accidentally shoot themselves or peers those results in death.
According to a study done by Alfred University for the reasons behind shooting among the students, the top five reasons that came in front were:
- Rage or Revenge
- Bullied by others
- No value for Life
- Physical abuse at home
- Mental problems
However, apart from these the reasons that can be picked from the table above are family problems, loneliness, physical abuse, and stress. Such reason is avoidable if the communication between children and adults are more intense and two way.
With the speed of world going faster and faster and every one of us around the world pressing hard in the name of modernization, is there something lacking behind. The mobile and computers are closing the gaps between the continents, but the closeness between the people that live together in a society or a place might be questioned after such incidents.
Access to guns to children are not a normal phenomenon. The kids are enthusiastic and curious; we should understand that accidents might happen, as guns are not normal for them.
Such shooting incidents reflect that we require a deep thought on finding the ways to eradicate such incidents in the future. The children are the future of the world and they need to be taken care of, delicately.
