Just a week before the mid-term elections, US-based Ice cream giant Ben and Jerry's has launched their newest flavour of an anti-Trump ice cream to resist the administration's regressive and discriminatory policies, the company said.
On November 6, America will go to the polls to elect members for each of the 435 House seats and 35 of the 100 Senate seats in Congress.
Pecan Resist, the limited-batch flavour consists of chocolate ice cream with white and dark chocolate chunks, fudge-covered almonds, walnuts and, of course, pecans.
"We honour and stand with women, immigrants, people of colour, and the millions of activists and allies who are courageously resisting the President's attack on our values, humanity, and environment,"the company said in a statement.
"We celebrate the diversity of our glorious nation and raise our spoons in solidarity for all Americans," the brand, which is known for being supportive of Democratic policies, added.
The label features three women of colour with the central figure holding up a "Resist" sign.
"Alongside all those nutty chunks, this pint packs a powerful message under its lid: together, we can build a more just and equitable tomorrow. We can peacefully resist the Trump administration's regressive and discriminatory policies and build a future that values inclusivity, equality, and justice for people of colour, women, the LGBTQ community, refugees, and immigrants," the company said upon unveiling the new flavour.
The company also said that they "could not be silent" as President Donald Trump attacked progress made in the various arenas of equality. In particular, the company pointed out Trump's plans to roll back protection for LGBT people and its denial of climate change.
