The Phoenix Suns were hoping to have their best player back in the lineup on Wednesday night. Instead, they're in even worse shape than they were in their last game.
Star guard Devin Booker will miss the Suns' home game against San Antonio, the third straight game he will sit out because of a hamstring injury, and fellow guard Isaiah Canaan will also not play with because of a sprained ankle, per The Athletic.
Canaan sustained his injury Sunday against Oklahoma City, leaving the game after playing only six minutes.
Rookie Elie Okobo of France is expected to once again pick up many of Booker's minutes. He has 30 points and nine assists in 49 minutes during Booker's absence, setting season highs in points (18), assists (seven), rebounds (five) and minutes (31) against Oklahoma City.
Booker, who turned 22 on Tuesday, is averaging 27.8 points, 6.8 assists and 4.5 rebounds in four games this season. He is also shooting better than 50 percent from the field. All marks are well above Booker's career highs.
Canaan is scoring 7.5 points per game while averaging 3.2 assists and grabbing 3.5 rebounds over six games this season.
