Kano approves N209 mn for fees of indigenous students

Fees paid through these funds will cover the Basic Education Certificate Examination, Senior Secondary School Certificate, qualifying examination as well as examinations for other Islamic education.

Kano approves N209 mn for fees of indigenous students

State Executive Council of Kano has approved 209 million Nigerian Naira for the benefit of indigenous students. The funds will be used in paying the 2018 Internal Examination registration fees.

Fees paid through these funds will cover the Basic Education Certificate Examination, Senior Secondary School Certificate, qualifying examination as well as examinations for other Islamic education.

About 210 million Nigerian Naira is also approved for upkeep allowances and return tickets of the students overseas that are overseas.

While addressing newsmen on the outcome of the 111th/112th meeting of the council in Kano, The State Commissioner for Information, Youth and Culture, Malam Muhammad Garba said that the council has also agreed to allocate N230 million for the renovation and upgrade of Fagwalawa Primary Healthcare to Cottage Hospital.

Garba said about 749 million Nigerian Naira had also been approved for reconstruction works on Dawakin Kudu-Ladin Makole Road in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area and rehabilitation of Ibrahim Dabo Road at 41 million Nigerian Naira.
