By the joint initiative of Access to Information (a2i) Programme of Prime Minister's Office and Bangladesh Atomic Energy Regulatory Authority, an online system called "E-Licensing and E-Learning System of (BAERA)", was inaugurated on 29 March, 2018. The project was inaugurated by Architect Yeafesh Osman, Hon'ble Minister, Ministry of Science and Technology.
Khalilur Rahman, Director General (Administration) of Prime Minister's Office and Md. Anwar Hossain, Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology were also present as the special guest at the ceremony. The online system developed by the joint initiative of a2i and BAERA aims to transform the Licensing and training System of BAERA into e-services via the online process for reducing time, cost and visit (TCV) in providing services to the citizens.
It is expected that this initiative will benefit more than 4000 radiation workers, product or services developers and citizens who are taking equipment services in health treatment from this online system along with 5000 licensed facilities.
