Toulouse fest in France to screen 13 Indian Films

Toulouse fest in France to screen 13 Indian Films

The sixth edition of Toulouse Indian Film Festival will showcase thirteen Indian films along with one Sri Lankan film. The festival will start on April 11 and will conclude on April 15 at Toulouse, France.

The screening will take place at L' Espace Diversités Laïcité, L'American Cosmograph, ABC, La Médiathèque Grand M, Centre Culturel Alban Minville and at Médiathèque Cabanis.

Lady of the lake (Manipuri), Demons in paradise (Tamil), Thondimuthalum Driksakshyum (Malayalam), Western Ghats (Merku Thodarchi Malai-(Tamil), Ishu (Assamese) and Newton (Hindi) are in the nomination for jury awards.

France 's Carine Trenton, Mary-Stephan Guey, Chris Thorpe and Louis-Marie Soler are among the jury who will be judging the films.

For the audience award, Is it too much to ask? (Tamil), Prakasan (Malayalam), Lady of the lake (Manipuri), Demons in paradise (Tamil), Thondimuthalum Driksakshyum (Malayalam), Sound of silence (Hindi, Tibetan and Pahari), Kadvi Hawa (Hindi), Western Ghats (Tamil), Ishu (Assamese) and Newton (Hindi) have been nominated.

Earlier known by another name, the festival was named Toulouse Indian Film Festival in 2015. The aim of the festival is to promote Indian cinema and film culture among the French people. The festival is first of its kind which is dedicated to the films of Indian subcontinent outside of France.
