This reduction concerns in particular the drugs used in the treatment of chronic diseases, such as asthmatic, contagious and high blood pressure diseases, antibiotics and drugs to reduce the level of cholesterol in the blood and to fight against certain types of cancer, besides drugs dedicated to the mental and psychic health, indicates a statement of the ministry.
The price reduction has reached more than 30 percent for some cancer treatment drugs, while this drop has reached more than 50 percent for medicines related to mental and mental health. Medicines for antivirals have also seen a reduction of more than 50 percent, while those with asthma exceed 35 percent, as per H24 Info.
The decision of the supervising ministry to reduce the prices of 67 drugs falls within the framework of the implementation of the national drug policy and intervenes in application of the provisions of decree 2.13.852, published on December 19, 2013 concerning the conditions and how to set drug prices, with the aim of making it easier for citizens to access medicines and reduce the cost of medical coverage, says the statement.
According to H24 Info, this policy also aims to ensure equitable access to basic medicines and care for all citizens, to promote the local pharmaceutical industry, to develop national skills and capacities.
