Indian Railways achieves provision of LED lights over all its stations
This is expected to result in saving of INR 50 Crore per year.
Indian Railways has achieved 100 percent provision of LED light in all the stations of Indian Railways on March 30, 2018, Ministry of Railways official Twitter handled tweeted today. This will result in saving of INR 50 Crore per year.
Indian Railways completed the target one day prior to the goal of March 31, 2018. South Central Railway was 1st Railway to complete the work, followed by other Zonal Railways.

Indian Railway became one of the major railway networks in the world to have 100 percent electricity efficient LED at all of its stations.
Indian Railway is the fourth largest railway network in the world and provides employment to millions of people. In the year ending March 2018, IR is projected to carry 8.26 billion passengers and transport 1.16 billion tons of freight
Recently Indian Railways got 2.5 crore job applications, which is more than Australia's population, for 1,10,000 vacancies.
