Two persons were
arrested Monday for allegedly stealing 700 sacks of bidi
leaves worth lakhs of rupees from a godown here in Palamau
district, police said.
The police recovered the stolen sacks of bidi leaves
after a raid was conducted by special police team formed to
look into the case and apprehend the culprits, said
Superintendent of Police, Indrajeet Mahatha.
Addressing a press conference here, Mahatha said the
stolen Bidi leaves were supposed to be delivered to a West
Bengal-based bidi company and were about Rs 42 lakh.
